Our Internet of Things (IoT) project kickoff meeting took place in the W Hotel in Mexico City in the basement. When I arrived there, there was a huge table filled with guys in suits along with Joe who I met for the first time. Joe seemed like an ordinary IT geek from the south. Everybody was pleasant and while they were introducing themselves, I felt right at home. I knew that based on our interactions that day, Joe would either accept me or not as the project lead for this initiative.
