Abstract:
The advancement in technology and greater push toward digitalization brought about by the impact of Industry 4.0 is changing the way IT projects are managed and executed. Consequently, investment in IT is increasing and new software technologies are bringing in new possibilities for project delivery. These changes are impacting the way project stakeholders engage in projects while project management methodologies are evolving. This chapter evaluates and contextualizes these aspects, drawing from the detailed discussion provided in the previous chapters of this book. It then summarizes the future directions of time, cost, quality, and risk management approaches related to IT projects. This chapter concludes by providing a vision toward the next generation of technologies, discussing how these will impact project management.
