Abstract: In this chapter, we discuss the notion of cooperation in the context of global policies and review several game theoretic approaches to conflict and cooperation between several players. Concepts to be discussed during this lecture include: allocation, characteristic function, coalition, grand coalition, partial coalitions, non-cooperative coalitions, defection, egoism, individual rationality, group rationality, effciency, Nash–Harsanyi solution, power, Prisoner’s dilemma, propensity to disrupt, Shapley Value, status quo, the core, and value.
