Abstract:
Singapore’s domestic market is small. However, it has positioned itself as “The Gateway to ASEAN”. The proximity between Singapore and its neighbours has led several global businesses and investors to establish Singapore as their base to cater to the broader ASEAN market, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines and many others. This web of networks has allowed Singapore to overcome its limitation of being a relatively small market, and its roots are visible in Singapore’s internal landscape.
