The COVID-19 NFL Playoffs and Super Bowl, 2020–2021

Abstract: The 2020—2021 NFL season took place in the COVID-19 era, so the lack of fans in the stands was the norm. Here we discuss the effects of COVID-19 on the NFL teams. Still, the season went well. Tom Brady left the New England Patriots to join Tampa Bay Buccaneers and recruited several key players. It paid off as they had a good season and they won the Superbowl. In the chapter we discuss several topics including the popularity of the NFL with fans and the NFL business, the Hall of Fame inductees, the player awards, a forecast of the playoffs, the results of the playoffs and Superbowl. We also discuss the path the of Betfair odds through the season and the bets Ziemba made along with the Betfair odds during the playoffs and Superbowl and a forecast for the 2021–2022 season We close with with a discussion of future happenings for the next season.
