Chapter 10 in The Vietnamese Economy and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, 2026, pp 249-267 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.

Abstract: Although Vietnamese digital platform businesses are making great efforts, they are under tremendous competitive pressure from foreign digital platforms, especially those operating across borders, and are facing competition right at their doorstep. Due to an incomplete legal corridor, we currently lack practical tools to fight monopoly, fight unfair competition, and protect Vietnamese businesses in cyberspace. We also lack legal tools to limit harmful forms of mergers and acquisitions, which can negatively impact the market. Besides, the digital economy market has not developed in the right direction. Creating and dedicating the domestic digital market, especially the Government digital market, so that Vietnamese businesses have the opportunity to train and grow to go global has not been implemented effectively. The policy of creating and prioritizing the domestic digital market, especially the government sector market, to serve as a foundation for Vietnamese businesses to mature before expanding globally, has not yet been implemented effectively
