Chapter 6 in Climate-Smart Innovation:Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development in the Environmental Economy, 2023, pp 93-103 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
One of the fundamental ESG (Environmental, Social, Corporate Governance) principles is the distribution of technological innovations in the production processes, which will allow carefully and rationally using the available natural resources. This chapter discusses the problem of quality deterioration and quantity of the main component of life on the planet — water. The quality of water also determines the quality of natural products consumed by a person because the high level of veterinary and sanitary conditions of livestock farms primarily depends on the purity of water. Nowadays, the quality of drinking water used by animals for slaughter plays an important role because it is one of the foundations of their health and productivity. The chapter aims to study innovation in livestock farms for the purpose of quality input of drinking water for animals and to investigate the compliance of such farms with the vector of sustainable development in the ecological economy. In particular, the device of plasma cleaning and disinfection of the water, which does not require regular maintenance or modernization of filtration devices, is considered. The positive effects of the introduced innovative device in the livestock complex, corresponding to the provisions of the UN Sustainable Development Program, are given.
