Abstract: The chapter examines the initiatives manifested in Russia for the sustainable development of the economy of the regions. The awareness of the importance of this direction for the transformation of the regional socio-economic system is emphasized. Conclusions are drawn about the need to involve the potential of environmental marketing in the issues of the socio-ecological and economic agenda. One of the significant tasks of environmental marketing in the positive transformation of the regional economy is the involvement of the population in the sustainable development agenda.
