Chapter 6 in High Growth Enterprises:The Role of Founder Characteristics and Venture Policies, 2022, pp 159-182 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
The findings of this study on growth venture policies and their relationships with the characteristics of the founders of these ventures can be classified into two categories, namely, those pertaining to entrepreneurs in general and those pertaining to growth ventures in particular. Though the primary objective of the study was to look at growth ventures in terms of their policies and founder characteristics, an incidental outcome was a few insights on the policies and characteristics of entrepreneurs in general. Since the latter was ‘incidental’, these results have not been contrasted with the characteristics of non-entrepreneurs, and to that extent, such findings will have to be taken as tentative and are more useful as hypotheses for further research than as proven conclusions. This final chapter, therefore, will discuss the findings of this study, assess its contributions to entrepreneurship theory and practice, discuss its limitations, and indicate directions for future research.
