Abstract:
In modern vocabulary, the term entrepreneurship has become almost synonymous with the term innovation. By the 20th century, economist Joseph Schumpeter brought the combination of entrepreneurship and innovation to the forefront of economic theory. More recently, given the rapid up-tick in the rate of technological innovations, there has been an increasingly loud call for “responsible innovation,” or RI. The purpose of this essay is to examine the evolution of both concepts, entrepreneurship and innovation, and see if the call for responsible innovation, can add to our parallel interest in humane entrepreneurship…
