Chapter 42 in Sustainable Development of the Green Entrepreneurial Economy, 2025, pp 495-506 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.

Abstract: On the global market, Russian transnational corporations traditionally work in the fields of hydrocarbon production, processing, and transportation. The global energy sector is undergoing fundamental changes dictated by the environmental agenda and scientific and technological development. The emergence of new oil and natural gas suppliers in the global energy market, advancements in technology increasing shale oil volumes, the production of liquefied natural gas, and the transition to renewable energy sources across all sectors of the world economy are driving fundamental shifts in existing global economic relations. On the one hand, these changes create certain external challenges for Russian transnational corporations and, on the other hand, represent new points of growth in green energy. In this connection, it is essential to consider and determine the approaches implemented by Russian transnational companies in the energy sector in developing new investment projects. It is also crucial to describe these approaches, study the territorial strategic changes of companies in the context of conceptual shifts, and conduct a comparative description of practices of Russian transnational corporations and leading international companies in this market sector to the development of green energy projects.
