Abstract:
This research focuses on diagnosing the construction of a social portrait of modern youth, for which contemporary concepts, theories, and paradigms of sociology and psychology dedicated to youth are examined. It demonstrates how the younger generation has experienced and continues to experience sociocultural changes in society across various historical periods. In the current context, psychological and social traits in the character structure of the younger generation are activated depending on existing socio-historical conditions. It is emphasized that the value orientations and life attitudes of young people are influenced by the historical period in which they live, economic changes, new liberal values, unprecedented technological progress, and the specifics of the information society. Special attention is paid to the issues that primarily concern the youth of Kyrgyzstan and Russia. Emphasis is placed on the migration attitudes of student youth. The authors conducted a comparative study based on a sociological survey among school and university students from Kyrgyzstan and various cities in Russia. The research shows how the information society and free movement around the world influence the ideals and social attitudes, shaping the behavior of young people. The authors analyzed the reasons for the increased outflow of youth, including student youth. Using a comparative analysis of the results of the sociological survey, the research presents a comprehensive social portrait of contemporary student youth in Russia and Kyrgyzstan in the context of migration attitudes.
