Abstract:
AbstractThis chapter attempts to provide an understanding of the role of technology in KM. It identifies some promising ways in which technology can be employed in organisational knowledge management. In general, technology is perceived as a tool in enabling and facilitating processes of knowledge development, transfer and utilisation. The focus of the chapter is on different categories of technologies and their roles in facilitating knowledge sharing, representation and transformation, as well as improving people's ability to acquire and create knowledge.
