Chapter 7 in Knowledge Management:Through the Technology Glass, 2005, pp 109-124 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
AbstractThis chapter describes and empirically evaluates a specific KM technology aimed at stimulating creative thinking. An interactive idea generator system was built to allow users to collect stimulating material from various sources in preparation for ideation, relate ideas to peers and mentors, create potential solutions to problems, and donate results to the idea bank or disseminate them to people. An empirical test of the brainstorming feature of the system was conducted using volunteer student subjects who performed a creative decision-making task. The test revealed a highly beneficial effect of technology on participants' ability to generate ideas.
