Chapter 29 in People, Knowledge and Technology:What Have We Learnt So Far?, 2004, pp 316-325 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.

Abstract: AbstractIntellectual property rights have been extended in scope and, in some cases, in time to such extent that questions may be raised about the allocation of such proprietary knowledge resources. It may be questioned in particular whether excessive rent seeking opportunities in certain intellectual property-protected knowledge resources may lead to misallocations.
