Chapter 10 in Management of Technology Innovation and Value Creation:Selected Papers from the 16th International Conference on Management of Technology, 2008, pp 155-167 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
AbstractThis chapter explores the possible challenges, threats and opportunities that face the forest and energy industries should they engage in the exploitation of renewable raw materials for bioenergy. A prospective analysis focuses on the future development of the biomass-intensive energy using a three-round Delphi study, which was performed at the end of 2006 in Finland, complemented with expert interviews. Based on the empirical data, we also attempt to identify what resources are needed in the future, and the most promising value creation possibilities at the interface of these two traditional industries.
