Abstract:
AbstractThis chapter focuses on China’s commercial ties with East and Southeast Asian countries. Section 1 looks at some salient features of Chinese business culture and section 2 gives a brief account of Chinese migrations into the region. Section 3 examines the commercial ties between China and the neighbouring countries, and is divided into three Par tas: historical perspective, China’s opening up since 1978, and economic integration in the region. Section 4 offers some speculations about future prospects.
