Abstract:
I am very pleased and honored to have participated in this prestigious conference on behalf of the World Bank Group (WBG). An important goal of the conference for the WBG is to help shape our upcoming Global Financial Development Report (GFDR) which will focus on the theme of Global Banking. The first of the GFDR series on the role of the state in the financial sector benefited from similar engagement with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago four years ago.
