Chapter 18 in Business Analytics:Progress on Applications in Asia Pacific, 2016, pp 510-525 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
Before purchasing skin care products, online shoppers search the Internet for product details such as benefits, usage, ingredients, or similar products. This is time-consuming and the information is not organized in an intuitive way. This study developed an application as a centralized information portal for various skin care brands. It crawls skin care official sites and generates indexes for users to search effectively. It also analyzes the ingredients of skin care products and provides an intuitive view for users to identify the potentially harmful ingredients. The application aims to help users make informed decisions during online purchases.
