Having His Cake and Eating It
John Gokongwei
Chapter 3 in Power Talk:Insights from Asia's Leading Entrepreneurs, 2018, pp 25-33 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
While many billionaires would like to be associated with their Bombardier or their Phantom as their signature mode of transport, the Philippines’ second richest man on the Forbes list in 2017, weighing in at US$5.8 billion, has chosen a bicycle as the symbol of his ride to fame and fortune. And if a bicycle represents simplicity, diligence, and candour, then it’s a befitting emblem for John Gokongwei Jr, the founder of JG Summit.
