Abstract:
In recent years, the air quality in Beijing has become increasingly worse due to rapid economic growth, urban sprawl and population explosion. Consequentially, the frequency of smog and haze weather in Beijing has increased significantly. What’s more, Beijing is located in the high-prevalence area of sand storms, and the global climate change has also increased the frequency of extreme weather conditions such as strong wind, ice and snow, rainstorm, thunder and lightning. Influences brought by natural disasters related to those severe weather conditions on the economic growth, social development and city image of Beijing have aroused wide concern, which should not be underestimated…
