THEORIES OF EVOLUTION AND THE MECHANISMS OF ADAPTATION

Chapter 9 in Creativity, Imagination and Innovation:Perspectives and Inspirational Stories, 2018, pp 69-77 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.
Abstract:
How can theories of evolution help the corporate world, and more specifically, its capability to innovate? These two worlds may seem very distant, yet they could learn from each other. Indeed, evolution theories shed light on natural patterns of innovation that can be applied to all species and groups. Besides, men develop different types of social behaviors and understandings of the world that make them more or less capable of adapting to these patterns, and therefore to innovate.
