Abstract:
Haier, the largest consumer electronics and home appliances company in the world, embarked on B2C e-commerce in 2010. For a company with highly established practices designed for corporate-level customers, Haier faced critical challenges in reshaping its logistic practices for huge numbers of individual customers. By developing necessary IT capabilities and improving the logistic practices in accordance with online customers’ needs, the company achieved satisfactory logistic practices and even became a major logistic service provider in China within 5 years.
