AbstractThis conference has, in the last two days, hosted a very good discussion about the need to improve the incentive system in the financial sector so as to make the incentives of a financial institution's managers compatible with those of its investors; in this way, financial institutions will be selfdisciplined. In addition, many commentators have pointed to the need for strengthening regulations in order to make financial institutions more accountable.
