Abstract:
The most important empirical findings from Chapters 3–5 are summarized in Table 9.1. This table is divided into three sets of columns one for each of the multipliers: ∂GDP/∂(Government Consumption), ∂GDP/∂Exports, and ∂GDP/∂(Money Supply). The first column for each set gives the year that the corresponding multiplier hit is maximum between 1981 and 2012. The second column gives the year (subsequent to the max year) that the multiplier hit its minimum. The third column gives the maximum value for the multiplier, and the fourth column gives its minimum value. The fifth column gives the percentage change from the maximum value to the minimum value. This fifth column shows that ∂GDP/∂G, ∂GDP/∂X, and ∂GDP/∂Money have all fallen noticeably for all the countries studied…
