In this chapter, we will present some of our latest simulation results related to long-term housing polices in Asia. In particular, we will show thatthe market structure problem in the Asian property markets could result in high real property prices and a significant portion of households who cannot afford to own their homes;the high wealth (or permanent income) inequality in these economies would further increase the proportion of households who cannot afford to own their home.…
