Instruments of Influence on Increasing Customer Focus on Domestic Tourism in the Russian Federation

Abstract: This research aims to study the instruments and measures of influence on increasing the level of customer focus on domestic tourism in the Russian Federation. This research presents the procedures and measures of government support for developing domestic tourism in the Russian Federation and analyzes the promotions “Tourist cashback” and “Cashback for children’s vacation” aimed at increasing the availability of tourism products. The introduction provides information on the dynamics of the domestic tourism flow in Russia and an analysis of its dynamics. The main part of the work presents the factors that positively or negatively affect the development of domestic tourism in Russia, quantitative data on the entered and paid applications of one of the leading tour operators for domestic tourism in the Russian Federation for promotions, the average bill for applications, and the top destinations in the Russian Federation during the promotions. In conclusion, the authors present statistics on booked and paid applications for stages 3–6 of the “Tourist cashback” promotion, followed by the analysis of these statistics and the results of the promotions. The outcome of the research is a confirmation of the need for participation and support of domestic tourism in the Russian Federation by the government.
