Chapter 10 in The Role of Entrepreneurship in Resolving Modern Global Economic Problems:A Systemic Review, 2026, pp 99-108 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.

Abstract: There has been a significant reorientation of tourist flows driven by Russian citizens. In this context, tourism development through creating new and enhancing existing infrastructure has become critically important and even pivotal for several Russian regions. It is also important for supporting and advancing the regional economy. This research examines current strategies for ensuring the competitiveness of tourism sector enterprises and achieving sustainable business development. The research includes a scientific analysis of the practical experiences of Russian and international tourism companies, employing a range of general research methods. The authors propose a comprehensive approach to enhancing the organizational and economic sustainability of entrepreneurship in tourist regions based on the integrated use of diverse measures. These measures combine traditional cost-saving practices in tourism service delivery and participation in environmental projects with the extensive implementation of advanced technologies in business process management. The practical application of this approach is underpinned by the belief that a targeted set of measures aimed at conserving resources, fostering environmental discipline among clients and staff, and optimizing logistical flows in tourism will ultimately enhance the organizational and economic sustainability of entrepreneurship in these regions.
