Chapter 12 in The Role of Entrepreneurship in Resolving Modern Global Economic Problems:A Systemic Review, 2026, pp 119-127 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.

Abstract: Nowadays, the dynamic development of territories is closely linked to the expansion of the tourism sector, underscoring its dominant role in the economies of developed countries within the fifth technological order. In this context, tourism has become increasingly significant for national economic security. The study of tourism from the standpoint of economic security is primarily focused on the trajectories of its development. This research aims to develop approaches for ensuring and managing the economic security of tourism in general and within specific tourist territories. To achieve this, the authors identified vertical and horizontal levels of tourism economic security, delineating its interdependencies and connections from the mega level down to the nano level. Tourism economic security has been structured as a complex system comprising five distinct levels. Additionally, the research analyzes the subject–object approach to managing economic security in tourism at the meso level. This research highlights the fundamental conceptual principles for managing tourism economic security at the meso level within the framework of subject–object relations. These principles are intended to aid in developing methods to prevent unacceptable distortions in the economy of the tourism industry.
