Chapter 15 in The Role of Entrepreneurship in Resolving Modern Global Economic Problems:A Systemic Review, 2026, pp 153-160 from World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd.

Abstract: The current transformations in the social structure of society demand a refined approach to the development of consumer cooperatives. The efficiency of agricultural production directly impacts the economic and social development of the country and its regions. In recent years, the state has paid special attention to agricultural cooperatives for several reasons: the development of rural infrastructure, the creation of jobs, the establishment of long-term contracts with buyers, and ensuring a stable supply of products to the market. In early 2024, the President of Russia clearly outlined the priority of state policy concerning small towns and rural areas. The focus was placed on supporting agricultural cooperatives, highlighting successful projects in Europe and Russia. According to the President, the comprehensive development of rural areas and agricultural cooperatives will help stop the outflow of population from rural regions, which will revive social sectors, provide rural residents with essential infrastructure, and create new jobs. The authors aim to explore the implementation of the Presidential decree on Russia’s National Goals and Strategic Objectives through 2024, using the development of rural cooperatives in the Republic of Mordovia as an example. Methodological principles were employed based on the research of Russian and international specialists in enterprise economics, as well as the findings of global organizations in the field of ecology. The research object is the theoretical and practical foundations for fulfilling the President’s directives, specifically in the context of small towns and rural settlements in the Republic of Mordovia.
