Abstract: The authors examine food security, its role within national security, and its intrinsic links to other types of security. A multitude of determinants influence the effective safeguarding of food security. The authors categorize these factors into two groups: internal and external environments. Key factors include the socio-economic conditions of the country and its regions and the development level of the agro-industrial complex. Special attention is given to technological and innovative factors that can contribute most significantly to advancing food security. Humanity now stands on the threshold of Industry 5.0, which aims to synergize human and intelligent systems. The bioeconomy is expected to be at the core of this new era. Based on the efficient utilization of renewable resources to transform them into high value-added products, this emerging economic model will drive key aspects such as ensuring global food supply, promoting sustainable agricultural development, and producing healthy and safe food. This highlights the connection between the bioeconomy, agriculture, agro-industrial processing, and global food security.
