Abstract: Shifting the focus from design towards use and engagement, I cast my gaze on the principal setting where we consume technology, the home. Indeed, our exposure to media begins at home where devices such as televisions, smartphones, laptops and tablets concurrently facilitate and constitute household routines. Parents text their children to coordinate school pickups and homework tasks while kindergarten and primary school kids have their days punctuated with iPad time…
