No 1998-05, School of Economics and Public Policy Working Papers from University of Adelaide, School of Economics and Public Policy
Abstract:
This paper assesses the poverty situation in the Kyrgyz Republic in September/October 1993. One aim is to provide guidelines for the creation of a social safety net by identifying the characteristics of the most economically vulnerable groups on the eve of transition to a market-based economy. Another aim is to provide a baseline for assessing the country's economic performance as one of the fastest economic reformers in the Commonwealth of Independent States
