ANALYZING PRODUCER PREFERENCES FOR COUNTER-CYCLICAL GOVERNMENT PAYMENTS

Abstract: A dynamic-stochastic model is developed to evaluate preferences among alternative counter-cyclical payment programs for representative farms producing corn and soybeans in Iowa and cotton and soybeans in Mississippi. These programs are found to not necessarily be preferred to existing government programs.
