Abstract: The qualitative paradigm is not widely discussed in agricultural economics, although research strategies are applied. The purpose of this contribution is (1) to elaborate on the paradigm of qualitative research; (2) to introduce purposes of qualitative research and provide examples; and (3) to discuss criteria of scientific rigor applicable.
