No 19848, 2002 Annual meeting, July 28-31, Long Beach, CA from American Agricultural Economics Association (New Name 2008: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association)

Abstract: This paper describes the first use of a methodology based on a utility-theoretic behavioral model to simultaneously estimate a household's WTP for a non-market good in both money and a non-monetary numeraire good. WTP by subsistence farmers in Namibia for deterrents to wildlife attacks on crops and livestock is estimated.
