No 19946, 2004 Annual meeting, August 1-4, Denver, CO from American Agricultural Economics Association (New Name 2008: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association)

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the technical efficiency of trucking carriers on a national basis by commodity groups for the year 2001. In this analysis, the efficiency measures are estimated using stochastic frontier analysis. Results reveal efficiency measures of trucking carriers vary by the commodity transported but might not be statistically significant in this analysis
