Modeling the Impact of Food Safety Information with No Information

Mario Mazzocchi

No 20252, 2004 Annual meeting, August 1-4, Denver, CO from American Agricultural Economics Association (New Name 2008: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association)

Abstract: This paper aims to propose a stochastic approach to measure the time pattern of a food scare, which does not require the inclusion of additional explanatory variables such as a news index. The application is based on the 1982 Heptachlor milk contamination in Oahu, Hawaii.
