Abstract:
This paper deals with the difficulties in using results from multiplicative models of recreational use(demand) for projecting recreational use of for estimating consumer surplus values and offers alternatives--theoretically optimal MSE-estimators--to traditional OLS estimators. Empirical comparisons of OLS and alternative estimators are given.
