Abstract: This paper abstracts the results of an effort to develop a conceptual model representing the simultaneous consideration of the demographic and economic phenomena within the development process. The model; called the Purdue Development Model (PDM), has been operationalized into a package of computer programs". However, the model is conceptual and requires a great deal of empirical data to operate.
