Abstract: Resource use decisions and adjustments to changing economic and technological conditions are a continuing interest of researchers and policy makers. These decisions and adjustments determine (a) the efficiency with which inputs are allocated in agriculture, (b) the profitability of farming {in the aggregate and for individuals) and {c) the survival of individual farm businesses over time.
