ON THE SELECTION OF ALTERNATIVE LAG MODELS

L.J. Butler and Stanley Thompson ()

No 278386, 1979 Annual Meeting, July 29-August 1, Pullman, Washington from American Agricultural Economics Association (New Name 2008: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association)

Abstract: An attempt is made to compare and evaluate polynomial and rational lag models, both theoretically and empirically, by estimating the same lagged relationship using both procedures. Empirical comparison is achieved by eliminating the unknown nature of the lag by using generated data with a known double lag structure.
