No 278953, 1980 Annual Meeting, July 27-30, Urbana-Champaign, Illinois from American Agricultural Economics Association (New Name 2008: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association)

Abstract: Feeder calf classes (sex, age, and condition) and cull sales are simulated for herds which differ in size and milking potential genotype. Pricing equations, cost, and net returns are calculated for the 1972-1978 period. Results indicate higher returns and lower variance associated with increased cow size and decreased milking potential.
