TATONNEMENT MODELLING: A VARIATION TO LINEAR PROGRAMMING

Burton English, Cameron Short and Earl O. Heady

No 279243, 1981 Annual Meeting, July 26-29, Clemson, South Carolina from American Agricultural Economics Association (New Name 2008: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association)

Abstract: An iterative solution incorporating Demand equations and on national interregional Linear Programming model is explored. Conditions for stability are found and comparison of an iterative solution process and a fixed demand solution is made. The iterative process used in the analysis allows the model to adjust demand levels when the supply curve shifts as a result of increased production costs.
