Abstract:
This paper develops a model for estimating the implicit prices for selected quality factors of fresh peaches at the wholesale and retail stages of the U. S. food distribution system. A hedonic price function was developed using a flexible functional form. The results indicate that the best opportunity for increasing the price of peaches is to deliver large, undamaged fruit. •
