The Diffusion of Computer Technologies: Evidence from California

Abstract: Empirical analysis shows that the likelihood of adoption of computers in California increases with farm size and complexity, and with farmer's education. Computers are mostly used for record keeping and accounting purposes, but there are significant levels in the use of managerial applications, especially amoung dairy and swine operations.
