No 278443, 1986 Annual Meeting, July 27-30, Reno, Nevada from American Agricultural Economics Association (New Name 2008: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association)

Abstract: This paper examines grain market organization, marketing functions, costs and margins in Senegal. Survey data on private sector sales volumes, storage, transportation and financing indicate costs and margins exceeding government guidelines, but not necessarily excessive. Implications for policy choices involving private, public and parastatal market participants are examined.
