No 278455, 1986 Annual Meeting, July 27-30, Reno, Nevada from American Agricultural Economics Association (New Name 2008: Agricultural and Applied Economics Association)

Abstract: Managerial ability is thought to be a key determinant of success in farming. This analysis evaluates managerial performance for a sample of 179 Illinois cash grain producers from 1976-83. Characteristics of the top performing groups are presented and the variability of performance is assessed. Further research needs are suggested.
