European Community Enlargement and U.S. Wheat Exports

Abstract:
Analysis based on a model differentiating products by origin indicates that U.S. wheat exports to Spain and Portugal will decrease by 33 percent as a result of EC enlargement. EC exports to its new members increase by 67 percent, while total wheat imports in the region decrease by 25 percent.
