Demand for Meat Products in the Pacific Rim Region

Abstract: The Rotterdam and LA/ AIDS models are used to obtain estimates of demand parameters for meat products in Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan. With relatively few exceptions, the elasticities are similar across model specifications. However, demand elasticities for meat products are notably different among the various Pacific Rim countries. This work provides valuable input to public and private decision makers in the United States in their ongoing efforts to penetrate foreign markets.
